About Texas Science and Engineering Fair

TSEF A&M EngineeringThe Texas Science and Engineering Fair (TXSEF) is an annual event sponsored by TWC, ExxonMobil and other partners and is hosted by Texas A&M University for middle and high school students. Participating students display their projects and compete in 21 different project categories. Awards are given for first through third place in each category, two Grand Prizes and one Best-of Show winner in both the junior and senior divisions. Top finishers from the high school division are additionally awarded a scholarship to attend the prestigious Governor’s Science and Technology Champions Academy held on a Texas university campus.

Top competitors in the junior division advance to the national Broadcom Masters competition. Some of the winning senior division entries go on to compete in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). Texas has produced many ISEF winners and has a proud history of success for its fair participants.

Students advance to TXSEF from one of 13 regional fairs held across the state. Finalists may participate as a team or have individual entries in the science and engineering fair competition. Students have an opportunity to display their research and receive recognition for their hard work from industry experts who volunteer as judges. Science and engineering fairs provide advanced education of science, mathematics, engineering and social sciences for students.
